Fulham: Cottagers sign Fredericks from Bristol City

In news just announced on the Fulham website, the Cottagers have announced the signing of Bristol City’s exciting youngster Ryan Fredericks. Arriving at Fulham on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, the 22-year old product of Tottenham’s youth system is returning to his London roots after signing for Bristol City for a sum thought to be around £175,000 only a few weeks ago on August 6. In their own announcement, Bristol City say that the youngster is returning to the capital due to “personal reasons”.

Despite only signing for Bristol City on August 6 this year, the youngster arrives at Fulham with a lot of experience since making his Tottenham debut in 2011 in a Europa League Play-Off game against Hearts, then featuring twice in the subsequent group games that season. Finding appearances hard to come by at Spurs, Fredericks had a loan spell at Millwall where he made 14 appearances in the Championship, scoring the winning goal on his debut against Ipswich Town. Last season, he agreed a season-long loan deal at Middlesbrough, making 19 appearances for the Teeside, helping Boro make the Championship Play-Off final.

In an interview with the Fulham website, Fredericks said,

“When I heard of the interest from Fulham I jumped at the chance and I’m delighted that we got it done so quickly. It’s a massive club that belongs back in the Premier League. Fulham’s a great area with big fans – it’s a good club.” Ryan Fredericks; Fulham club website – August 31, 2015
