Bristol City: Robins chasing loan deal for young Leicester defender

Last season Bristol City were run away winners of the League One competition. This season in the Championship, City aren’t finding life so easy and currently sit in 20th place on four points. Having leaked 10 goals in their opening four games, defence is obviously a weakness as they adjust to a higher leve lof competition. To this end, the Bristol Post have announced that the Robins are chasing a loan deal for Leicester City’s highly-rated youngster Liam Moore, a name linked with other teams including Leeds United.

Two days ago, Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill confirmed that the club were in the market for a striker and a defender and saw the transfer window as “the window of opportunity” with clubs dropping prices and demands as the window begins to close. The Bristol Post also announced in the above article that Cotterill thinks that these market forces may well begin to work in the club’s favour.

The loan capture of Liam Moore, should this pan out for Bristol City, will be something of a coup with Moore having played an important part in helping Leicester win promotion from the Championship two seasons ago. However, at Leicester, the young defender has found appearances hard to come by, playing only two England U21 games this season and one League cup appearance for Leicester City. However, he did make 11 Premier League appearances for Leicester last season before making three loan appearances for Brentford.
