Colchester have completed the signing of Charlton’s Callum Harriott on loan.

The winger will join the League 1 side until January, as they bid to avoid relegation to League 2 as they did by the skin of their teeth last year.

The 21-year old has featured for the Addicks twice so far this season, starting once but the club feel he will get more game time for the U’s and he will now spend the next five months plying his trade down in League 1.

Last season, Harriott featured 23 times for Charlton, bagging himself one goal. He has been at the Valley since 2011 and during his time at the club he has played 76 games and scored nine.

This deal to send him to Colchester is the first time the winger has ever been sent out on loan.
