Forest looking at swap deal for Henri Lansbury

Nottingham Forest have asked for a player to be included in a deal that would see midfielder Henri Lansbury leave to go to Burnley, according to a report published today.

The 24-year-old is a key figure in the Forest squad. Last season he made 39 appearances for the Reds, scoring 10 and assisting 5. In total, he has made 103 appearances during his time at the East Midlands outfit, scoring on 23 occasions and helping out with 12 assists.

Lansbury has attracted the interest of Championship rivals Burnley, who are looking to bring the midfielder to Turf Moor before the end of the transfer window. Forest are working within strict Financial Fair Play regulations, and boss Dougie Freedman has asked for striker Lukas Jutkiewicz or midfielder Scott Arfield in return for Lansbury leaving.

Speaking after his side’s 2-1 victory over Rotherham on Saturday, Freedman is quoted by Football365 as saying “the latest is that our football club has asked about one of their players, to see if they can be put into the deal.

“If that interests Burnley, then they will get back to us. The ball is back in their court. I want Henri to stay. I have asked for one of their players to sweeten the deal. Then we will consider it. I am only going to do what is right for this football club.”

“The deal is not dependant on another player being involved in the deal, no it is not. Burnley will get back to us on that one.”
