You know what it is like, you go out and spend £2.5m ish on a striker and he doesn’t instantly set the world alight. You can hear the muffled cries of disgruntled fans, “What a waste of money…”, “Couldn’t hit a bull’s arse with a banjo…”, “Drop him and bring in…” Well, that and more has been said about Chris Wood at Leeds United as he struggles to find that elusive first league goal…with the season only two games old. Already the harbingers of doom are swirling in the sky and the football Grim Reaper is sharpening his scythe as Leeds United fans begin to bay for blood.
Unfortunately, that’s the nature of the beast up in LS11 at the moment, as it is at most clubs I guess. You buy big, you expect big and nothing in between will suffice. After today’s goalless draw with Reading, what is the mood among Leeds United fans regarding Chris Wood and where he stands in relation to selection for the team.

Thankfully it it seems that not all Leeds fans are calling for summary changes to be made and baying for blood. It seems that some are sensibly advocating a softly-softly catchee-monkey approach to Chris Wood’s place in the team, especially as he strives to get that first goal for the Whites.
