Fulham rival QPR for Bolton defender

Fulham have joined London rivals Queens Park Rangers in a bid to sign Tim Ream, according to the Bolton News

Earlier this week it was revealed that QPR had place a third bid for the US international defender. It is understood that the club have rejected this approach but Rangers are now believed to have made a fourth bid.

The R’s are now to be joined by Fulham in the chase for the 27-year old as they have now also bid for one of Wanderers’ prized assets.

It is understood that Bolton are holding out for a sum of more than £2million to recoup the majority of the £2.3million Wanderers originally paid for his services from New York Red Bulls.

After last night’s Capital One Cup exit at the hands of Burton Albion, Lennon told the Bolton News: “There has been an original bid from QPR and now there is one from Fulham. He’s not for sale. And neither club has reached our valuation for the player.”

Ream has not played for Wanderers since the last day of the previous season in the 1-0 loss to Birmingham City. He missed the whole of preseason with the Whites due to being involved in the Gold Cup, finishing fourth with USA.

However, after he returned to Wanderers it was revealed that he has an unusually severe dead leg which has kept him out of the first two games of this season.
