QPR to make improved offer for Bolton’s defender

Queens Park Rangers look set to make an improved offer for Bolton defender Tim Ream, after their initial bid of £1 million was turned down by the Trotters, according to the Daily Mirror.

Rangers boss Chris Ramsey sees the American as the perfect man to bolster their defensive options after they started their Championship campaign with a 2-0 loss to Charlton.
The R’s are set to make an improved offer of £1.75m for the ex-New York Red Bulls player as they try to replace the outgoing trio of Rio Ferdinand, Richard Dunne and Steven Caulker
After initially rejecting the earlier approach, Trotters boss Neil Lennon has expressed his desire to keep one of their more senior players.
Lennon told the Bolton News: “The bid’s way below our valuation of what we think Tim is worth. I don’t want to sell him and the club doesn’t want to sell him. Whatever people think about the financial situation I don’t want to sell one of my best players.”
Despite this, R’s boss Ramsey is reportedly keen in adding the 27 year old to his ranks after they recently wrapped up a deal for Tottenham Hotspur centre back Grant Ward
Ream plays predominantly as a centre back but has played the majority of his games for Bolton at left back and in turn won the side’s player of the season for the last two campaigns, and was also a part of the American 2015 Gold Cup squad during the summer.
