Tottenham youngster set for Leeds United loan

Tottenham youngster Milos Veljkovic is set to join Leeds United on a season-long loan, according to reports.

The 19-year-old is primarily a centre-back, but can also play as a defensive midfielder. He has made 40 appearances for Tottenham’s under-21’s, scoring one and assisting four. He has also made three appearances for Spurs’ first team, including an appearance in the Europa League.

He is also capped as an international player, representing Serbia at every level from under-17 to under-21. He joined Middlesbrough on-loan in October 2014 where he made 4 appearances. The defender also has other experience of Championship football, joining Charlton on-loan in January of last season, there he made three appearances.

With Massimo Cellino’s policy of buying players at the end of their loan spells, it is expected that Leeds will have a clause put in place that allows the Whites to buy Veljkovic if he is successful.

Leeds United’s executive director had said previously that Leeds will be looking to add two more players to the squad before the end of the transfer window. If Veljkovic is to arrive, Leeds will turn their attention to signing a central midfielder or another winger.
