5 reasons why Leeds United will win their first game

Reason #4: A STRONG PRE-SEASON

Despite only winning 1 of their 5 pre-season fixtures, Leeds United enjoyed a strong pre-season through the performances that were put in. Draws at York City and Harrogate Town look bad results on paper, but the reality is that these games were used to give everyone in the squad a chance of playing and learn the formation in a game situation. A trip to Austria and Norway saw Leeds give good accounts of themselves against strong opposition in Eintracht Frankfurt and 1899 Hoffenheim and put in strong performances. The Hoffenheim game was definitely one that Leeds did not deserve to lose as they were a stronger team for large parts of the match. The final home game against Everton saw Leeds play some a great team performance, the highlight being Alex Mowatt’s goal which saw 17 passes in the build-up.

Reason #5: ELLAND ROAD

Elland Road has the potential to be one of the loudest stadiums in Europe when it attracts a good crowd and Saturday will be no exception. A crowd of over 30,000 is set to go to the game despite it being an early kick-off and being shown live on TV. Combine this with the fact that it is the first game of the season and it’s clear that the Leeds United faithful will be noisy and back their team. When Leeds build momentum and begin to attack, the Elland Road crowd will certainly make themselves heard.
