Millwall seal a deal for Leeds striker Steve Morison

League One side Millwall have agreed a deal for Leeds United striker Steve Morison, who joins the club on a one-year deal, the deal was announced on Millwall’s club website.

The 31-year-old is joining the club for his third spell, having played for The Lions between 2009 and 2011 and then re-joining on loan for the 2013/14 season. During his time at Millwall, Morison has scored 48 goals in 137 appearances.

A deal for Morison was suggested to be happening today, following the news that the forward had been allowed to leave Leeds to find himself a new club.

Leeds signed the striker from Norwich in January 2013, swapping Luciano Becchio for Morison and cash in a deadline day deal. He managed to find the net 12 times during 59 appearances for The Canaries. He was given a second chance season at Leeds during the 2014/15 campaign, scoring twice in 26 appearances.

The deal means that Morison becomes Millwall’s fifth signing of the summer, joining Mahlon Romeo, Tony Craig, Joe Martin and Jordan Archer in making the move to the New Den. He is expected to form a partnership with last season’s club top scorer Lee Gregory as The Lions look at trying to secure an immediate return back to the Championship.
