Former Owl set for Ipswich move

Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Giles Coke is reportedly on the verge of signing for Ipswich Town, reports The Star.

Coke was released by the Owls at the end of last season has impressed Tractor Boy’s boss Mick McCarthy during a trial at the club.

“Giles and Larsen (Toure) will be staying with us, they’ve both been offered deals,” said McCarthy.

“I knew about Giles anyway from him playing against us over the years and I’ve always liked him as a player. He’s come in and done really well.”
The 29-year-old spent five years at Hillsbrorough after signing in 2010 as a free transfer from Motherwell.
The midfielder who compares his playing style to that of Claude Makelele and Steven Gerrard, made over 80 appearances for Wednesday, and also spent time on loan at Bolton Wanderers, Bury and Swindon Town.
