Leeds United striker en route to bid farewell

Uwe Rosler has once again confirmed that striker, Nicky Ajose, will be saying farewell to Elland Road in the near future, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Rosler has also confirmed that there is interest for the forward as he has been set the task to find himself a new club.

It has also been revealed, on the official Leeds United website, that the 23-year old forward is missing from the recently released list of squad numbers. This goes some way to doubting the longevity of Ajose’s stay at Leeds United. A new club appears to be next for Ajose.

Rosler said of Ajose in the post-game press conference, “I spoke to Nicky before we went to our training camp. Nothing has changed. I feel I can’t guarantee him the playing time he probably wishes for and it’s better for both parties if Nicky tries to find himself a new club.”

“He’s a great age, he’s a good footballer and there’s some interest in him. Unfortunately he will not play for us.”

Ajose signed for Leeds last summer, and has since been loaned out to Crewe where he made 23 league starts, scoring 8 goals. Before arriving at Elland Road, the forward began his career as a trainee for Manchester United, until he moved permanently to Peterborough. He has had previous loan spells at Scunthorpe, Chesterfield, Crawley, Bury and Swindon.
