Birmingham’s new Arsenal arrival reveals he is ‘very happy’ with his move

As reported on The72 last night, Arsenal’s young midfielder Jon Toral has joined Birmingham City on a season-long loan in order to gain valuable first team experience.

Formerly a Barcelona player, the Spanish 20 year-old was with the Catalan giants for eight years playing in their youth system before moving to London to play for the Gunners in 2011.

Yet to make a first team appearance for the Premier League giants, Toral spent last season on loan with Brentford and played 34 games for the Bees, netting six goals and contributing two assists.

Speaking in an interview with Birmingham’s official YouTube channel, Toral expressed his happiness abut securing the move:

““I was looking for somewhere to go out on loan and gain more experience. I got a call and was told Arsenal had spoken to Birmingham and they were interested.

“I thought about it for a few days and realised it was the best option and I am very happy that we can make it. “I spoke to the manager; he explained everything to me, about how big the club is and the expectations.

“The Championship is a crazy league and we have to focus on each game.”
