Leeds United striker may not be fully fit for the opening game

Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that his new striker Chris Wood may not be 100% fit at the beginning of the 2015/16 campaign, which gets underway in just over a weeks time.

He speaking to reporters about the fitness of Wood, he said: “He’ll maybe not be 100 per cent but he’ll be in a position where he is match fit.”

Leeds face Burnley at home on the opening day, and many supporters of the Whites will be wanting Wood to appear in the first eleven as he brings to Leeds Premier League experience and support to the attacking line. The player himself would also be determined to start the season well with his new team, and will be wanting to begin the season as he means to go on…

Wood spent just over two years at Leicester, and made 26 league starts, with 27 substitute appearances and scored a total of 14 league goals. However, the 23-year old striker joined up with Ipswich at the end of last season for three months where he made 3 league starts and 5 substitute appearances, but could not find his scoring ways and unfortunately failed to get a goal.
