Yeovil confirm winger signing

Yeovil Town have today confirmed the signing of winger Iffy Allen from Barnet on a one year deal, as reported on the by the BBC

The 21-year-old has joined after impressing at Huish Park during a one month trial from Barnet. The winger has also spent time on loan at Kingstonian, Redhill and Wingate & Finchley.

Manager Paul Sturrock spoke of his excitement at the capture of Allen.

“Iffy came to us with no real background after a spell at Barnet, where he only played a few games.

“He is a very exciting winger and his potential is huge, he showed glimpses of his potential against Torquay in the friendly last week.”

Speaking on what the youngster can bring to the Glovers’ table, Sturrock said:

“Iffy knows where the goal is and likes to get crosses into the box, there is no substitute for pace a guile. We have have taken a chance on him and it is up to him to force himself into the team.

“I have watched him in training over the past month and that is where I see and learn most things about the players, he is not the finished article by a long shot.

“I am excited by what I have seen in the games and training and I believe I can mould him into a exceptional player.”
