Charlton complete deal for former Barcelona and Tottenham attacker

Charlton have announced on their official website that they have completed the transfer of Cristian Ceballas from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur on a three-year deal.

Ceballos becomes the Addicks fifth signing this summer as Head Coach Guy Luzon prepares for another season in the Championship.

A diminutive forward standing at 5’9″, the 22 year-old started his career with Spanish giants Barcelona as a 12 year-old and spent seven years with the Catalan club before being snapped up by Tottenham.

After a loan to Portuguese Primeira Liga side Arouca to gain first team experience, Ceballos returned to White Hart Lane and was assigned a squad number for the 2014-15 season – however he failed to make a first team appearance for Spurs.

Guy Luzon was keen to praise the youngster upon his arrival to The Valley, saying:

“Cristian is a very technical player, who has a lot of quality and skill and I hope that he will be able to show that the to Charlton fans this coming season.

“He had a strong football upbringing at Barcelona and after joining Tottenham he kept a strong goalscoring record within their development team.”
