It has been reported that Charlton are interested in signing central defender Clement Lenglet from AS Nancy.

The defender, who can also play as a right back, has represented France at all youth levels and currently plays for the U21 side.  For his club he has made 24 senior appearances since making the step up to the first team in 2013.

Charlton are short on defenders and so could do with a player like Lenglet to improve their squad, but they will face competition.

It has been reported that Saint Etienne and European giants Juventus are also taking an interest in the player, and so Charlton would have to fight off these clubs to secure the 20-year-old’s signature.

With Lenglet being contacted to AS Nancy until 2018, it is thought that a bid of around £1 million would be needed to sign him.
