Forest and Hull among four clubs chasing former Bayern Munich striker

According to reports, four Championship clubs are chasing Hertha Berlin forward Sandro Wagner.

The clubs taking interest are Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers.

The 27 year old graduated from the Bayern Munich academy, but only made 4 appearances for the first team. Arguably, he had the best part of his career at MSV Duisberg in the 2. Bundesliga scoring 12 goals in 36 appearances. This attracted interest from Werder Bremen.

Wagner didn’t really make much of an impact for the Green and Whites scoring only 5 goals in 30 matches and spending some time playing for the reserves. Kaiserslautern took a punt and he didn’t produce the goods, only making a handful of appearances and not providing anything for those games. But, he has been a regular over the past 4 years at Hertha Berlin. Being part of their promotion from 2.Bundesliga in 2012-13.

Wagner will be looking for a fresh start in England after not having the best of years playing top flight football in Germany. He does have a decent record in the Second Division and that could rub off in England. With four top clubs interested, Wagner will be relishing what is to come for him.
