Wing wizard wanted back in Wales

David Cotterill is a target for Cardiff City, where he was born.

Cotterill had an impressive debut season at Birmingham City, scoring nine and assisting eight as they finished one place above the Bluebirds.

Cotterill may be tempted to go to Cardiff due to his affiliation with the location, though he won’t be cheap.

Gary Rowett, the Birmingham manager, is a big fan of Cotterill and is unlikely to entertain the notion of the winger leaving unless a decent sized fee comes in.

Interestingly, Cotterill had a spell at fierce rivals Swansea, so it would not be his first foray at a Welsh club and a Cardiff move could be quite controversial.

The right winger has played 22 times for his country, scoring twice, but faces competition for his place from none other than Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
