MK Dons confirm three new signings

Milton Keynes Dons have today confirmed the addition of three new players to the squad, including a Welsh international and a former Bayern Munich winger.

The Dons are set to play their first ever season in the Championship and are looking to bring in players that can help boost a team that won automatic promotion in style last season.

So who have the Dons signed?

DALE JENNINGS
Some Dons fans will be familiar with Jennings, who spent a brief spell on loan at MK1 in the 2013-2014 season.

Jennings has spent time playing in Germany with Bayern Munich II, having impressed the German outfit during his early spell with Tranmere Rovers.

Jennings, 22, plays as a winger and could be a useful player for the Dons, who are in need of support in the attacking third of the game.

He has experience in the Championship too, with him making 47 league appearances for Barnsley, who allowed him to leave on a free this summer.

SIMON CHURCH
Church is a player that brings with him a wealth of international experience, having represented Wales 26 times since making his debut in 2009.

Church, a striker, has not had the most prolific goal scoring record throughout his career but he is capable of holding the ball up well and presenting opportunities for poachers to pounce on.

He was released by Charlton Athletic in May, having played in 55 league games for the club. The Dons are desperate to score goals next season and may expect more of Church than with his previous clubs.

CODY CROPPER
Having let long-term understudy Ian McLoughlin leave this summer, the Dons needed help in the goalkeeper department.

Number 1 ‘keeper David Martin has yet to sign a new deal with the club, though he is expected to shortly, and it meant the Dons only had youth player Charlie Burns on their books.

Cropper is young and has a long way to go but the former Southampton youth player could see some playing time in cup matches next season.

On the whole, the signings are a promising step forward for the Dons. They do, however, need to continue their search for Championship-level players.

The Dons still have a lot of work to do in replacing striker Will Grigg and midfielder Dele Alli this summer but these three signings shows the club are not waiting around to sign the players they need.
