Chelsea’s talented young striker linked with MK Dons move

Reports from MKWeb suggest that Milton Keynes Dons are looking to bring Chelsea’s young Scottish striker, Islam Feruz, to the club on loan next season.

Feruz, 19, is originally from Somalia but moved to the United Kingdom with his family when he was just 5 years old.

He joined Celtic’s youth academy at the age of 10 before leaving to join Chelsea’s set up when he turn 16.

3 years later and Feruz is now representing Scotland at Under 21 level, scoring 2 goals in 4 appearances.

The Dons are looking to bring in at least two strikers for their first season in The Championship and, with Will Grigg seemingly out of their reach, will hope to bring in the young striker in the coming weeks.

Feruz has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea but has spent brief spells on loan with OFI Crete and Blackpool.

The Dons, who will reportedly have one of the smallest budgets in the Championship next season, need help up front and will be relying heavily on loan signings to make ends meet.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to subsidise Feruz’ wages to allow him to gain first-team experience on loan next season.

This will help the Dons, should they make the deal, and could give Feruz a chance to make a statement and show his talents fully next season.

Should Feruz move to MK1, they will begin to boost the biggest area of need for the club and will be hoping to bring in at least one more striker to give them a chance of fending off relegation next season.
