£12 million price tag stuck on prolific in-demand Championship striker

According to the Daily Star, Blackburn Rovers have put a price tag of £12 million on their star striker Jordan Rhodes after West Ham and Everton join the race for the Scottish international.

The long list of clubs interested in signing Rhodes now reads: Middlesbrough, who apparently leading the way, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Swansea and Everton.

The Boro are eager to replace the departed Patrick Bamford after his loan from Chelsea has expired and see the 25 year-old as the perfect replacement to help propel Aitor Karanka’s side to promotion.

After buying the striker from Huddersfield for a club record £8 million back in 2012, Rovers had to put in a clause which entitled the Terriers to 20% of any future transfer, which is why Gary Bowyer’s side will hold out for a £12 million offer to come in.

Every side interested has a case for splashing out the money on Rhodes, with Everton needing someone to supplement Romelu Lukaku, West Ham struggling with injuries to their strikers, and Crystal Palace looking to cement and solidify their Premier League status.
