Wolves and Celtic set to battle it out for ex-PSG midfielder

Having been released from West Brom at the end of the season, Youssuf Mulumbu is drawing the attention of both Wolves and Celtic as they look to sign the DR Congo international on a free transfer.

The midfielder had spent six years with West Brom prior to his release, playing close to 200 games for the Baggies – the majority of which were in the Premier League.

In his first season with the club in 2009-10, a season in which West Brom attained promotion to the Premier League where they still remain, Mulumbu was awarded both the clubs and players’ Player of the Year season.

The Zaire-born 28 year-old was bought by West Brom from French Champions Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of £175,000 after making just 13 first-team appearances for PSG during three years.

Earning caps for France at both U20 and U21 level, Mulumbu decided in 2008 to play for DR Congo and has since gone on to make 26 appearances for his country.
