Taylor In At Oxford

Oxford United have added striker Ryan Taylor to their squad ahead of the upcoming 2015/16 season. Head Coach Michael Appleton has completed the signing of Taylor from former club Portsmouth.

The former Bristol City striker is the third new face in at the Kassam Stadium since the end of the season. The 27 year-old scored 10 goals in 41 appearances for Pompey and was widely credited for being a major part in the goalscoring exploits of Matt Tubbs who netted 9 in 23 after joining in January. Taylor began his career at Rotherham where he made over 100 appearances and had loan spells at Exeter City and Burton Albion. Bristol City paid an undisclosed fee for his services in June 2011 but after 2 goals in 42 games, Taylor was allowed to join Portsmouth in January 2014.

Taylor has signed a two year deal at the Kassam Stadium and joins an exciting selection of attacking talent in the U’s squad. Head Coach Appleton told the official club website:

“Ryan is another really strong addition to the squad. He works hard, scores goals, he leads the line really well and he is someone you know is going to make life very hard for opposition defenders. He was one of the best forwards in the division last season and we are delighted to have him here.”
