Wigan deal is done for O’Donnell

Wigan have agreed a deal to sign Walsall goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell on 1 July.

The keeper had been offered a new two-year deal to stay on at the Saddlers but he has decided instead to make the move to the DW Stadium.

Latics are getting ready for life in League 1 and the 26-year old will become their second signing after David Perkins in what will be a summer of preparation for the club.

He has put pen to paper on a three year deal with Wigan and will officially join when his current contract at Walsall runs out.

He was a key player during his time at the Bescot Stadium and managed to get himself 21 clean sheets during the 2014/15 season.

Doncaster had also been linked with a move for the Englishman.
