Jonathan Spector and Nick Townsend have signed new deals to keep them at the club.

Both have signed 2 year deals, with Townsend’s contract including a one-year option should he impress.

With Colin Doyle leaving the club, Townsend has a chance to be second choice and might get a chance in the first team. Jonathan Spector is a very useful player as he can fill in in a lot of positions competently and has shown himself to be a very decent centre-half.

This is good news for the club as sorting out contracts early gives Rowett and his team more time to find targets for the positions in which we lack players.

Blues are still waiting on several players to sign new contracts, including Darren Randolph, Koby Arthur and Connal Trueman.

Hopefully Demarai Gray will sign a new contract, but with new rumours flying in it’s looking less and less likely as the days go.
