Gary Rowett insists that Blues do not need to sell Demarai Gray, so at what price would they want to?
Having turned down a reported £5m in January, Rowett stated that Blues are in a good financial position and do not need to sell the youngster.
But with big teams sniffing around, the club may have a price in mind. In theory, every player has a price and Gray is no different – but what is that price?
Whilst Gray has just one year left on his contract and seems to be unwilling to sign a long-term contract, much to Blues’ dismay, Blues would still get a fee due to his age if he left on a Bosman.
The fee would be decided by tribunal, and due to the size of the bid in January the fee would hopefully be a respectable one.
This means it would take a sizable fee to prize away the teenager from St. Andrews, and with big clubs circling, I think Blues should aim to get £10-12m for the youngster if he is to leave.
How much do you think Gray should go for?
