I’m a Yorkshireman, born and bred. There’s two things that I love:
1.) a bargain
2.) getting summat f’nowt.
In today’s austerity-mad world, the only thing that you get f’nowt is poorer. Mind you, I bet I am not alone in wanting to get a bargain. Everybody like to feel that they’ve got a little extra thrown in for no outlay. A nice pat on the back pocket and that smug feeling inside that you’ve saved yourself a couple of quid.
Trouble is, following football is an expensive business and it ain’t getting cheaper. So when you can walk away from a football game feeling you’ve saved a few pennies, it’s always good. You don’t get that feeling everywhere. For example, if you’re an Arsenal fan you don’t get ‘a bargain’ (the cheapest season ticket is £1,014) and you definitely don’t get ‘summat f’nowt’ (with each goal at the Emirates Stadium costing a whopping £27.41)
Anyway, less of the flim-flam, these are the top six best value ‘home’ clubs in the Championship based on the lowest cost per goal at home (lowest season ticket price/total home goals scored). In true tradition, like the Eurovision Song Contest, I will don a sparkly frock and announce the results in reverse order. So, in sixth place…
