Nottingham Forest winger Philip Zinckernagel missed Saturday’s win over Huddersfield Town as a result of an ankle knock, Steven Reid has confirmed.
When Danish winger Zinckernagel was absent from the Nottingham Forest squad for their clash with Huddersfield Town, some eyebrows will have been raised among supporters.
The Watford loan man had started in all but one of Forest’s seven Championship games before the tie with the Terriers, netting once and providing one assist.
However, caretaker manager Steven Reid has now confirmed Zinckernagel missed out through a “slight injury”.

As quoted by Nottinghamshire Live, Reid confirmed that the winger has picked up a knock on his ankle.
Despite his absence from Saturday’s win, it is expected that Zinckernagel will be able to make a return to training in the coming days and come back into contention next weekend.
Here’s what Reid had to say:
“He has a slight injury.
“He picked up a knock in the week, had a fitness test on Friday and was ruled out. It was a bit precautionary. I think he’ll be okay for next weekend.
“He just had a knock on his ankle, it was nothing serious. Hopefully, he’ll be able to train in the next few days.”
With it being hoped that Zinckernagel’s knock will have healed in the next few days, it will be interesting to see if he comes back into the side against Millwall.
But who will be in charge next Saturday?
It seems as though former Swansea City boss Steve Cooper is set to take charge at the City Ground, with an agreement over compensation reached.
Current stand-in boss Reid has said he will be remaining focused on the task at hand until he’s given more information, which he thinks will come over the next couple of days.
With an appointment seemingly close, fans will be eagerly awaiting news on their next manager as they embark on life after Chris Hughton.
