Hull City goalkeeper Harvey Cartwright has joined Gainsborough Trinity on loan, as announced by their official club website.

Hull City have given the green light for the youngster to go and get some experience under his belt in non-league.

Cartwright, who is 19-years-old, linked up with Gainsborough yesterday and was thrown straight in for his debut.

They played Stalybridge Celtic and won 1-0.

New challenge

Cartwright has had a loan spell away in the past at Barton Town but will now be eager to show what he can do at Gainsborough.

He is below Matt Ingram and Nathan Baxter in the pecking order at the MKM Stadium at the moment, hence why Grant McCann has had no problem with him leaving to get some game time.

The youngster is seen as one for the future for the Tigers and it will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Northern Premier League.

He started life at Gainsborough well yesterday with a clean sheet.
