Wigan Athletic are taking a look at free agent goalkeeper Mark Howard.
The experienced stopper is currently training with the League One side, as reported in The Sun on Sunday (19.09.21, pg. 61).
Howard, who is 34-years-old, is a free agent after being released by Scunthorpe United at the end of last season.
The veteran has linked up with Wigan for the time being with Jamie Jones out injured.

Recent years
Howard made 14 appearances for Scunthorpe last season after signing for them in October last year.
He was released by Blackpool last year after two years on the books at Bloomfield Road, part of which he spent on loan at Salford City.
Vastly experienced
The stopper is vastly experienced in the game and has racked up just under 300 appearances so far in his career.
Career to date
Howard started out as a youngster at Arsenal and embarked on spells at Cardiff City, St Mirren, Aberdeen and Blackpool before signing for Sheffield United in 2012.
He spent four years on the books at Bramall Lane and played 104 times for the Yorkshire club.
Bolton Wanderers then came calling in 2016 and he helped the Trotters gain promotion to the Championship in his first year.

What now?
It will be interesting to see if Wigan offer him anything or whether he is just training with them for cover.
