Inbound Nottingham Forest boss Cooper planning to raid Swansea City for Jay Fulton

Inbound Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper will look to raid his former club Swansea City for midfielder Jay Fulton, reports The Sun.

Cooper looks set to land the Nottingham Forest job. The Reds have agreed a £1.2million compensation fee with Swansea City for Cooper who is supposedly on gardening leave, having parted ways with Chris Hughton this week.

Now, Alan Nixon writes in The Sun on Sunday (19.09.21, pg, 61) that Cooper will look to raid his former club Swansea for Fulton, who’s seemingly fallen down the pecking order under new manager Russell Martin.

Fulton, 27, has been an unused substitute in the last three outings for the Swans. He proved an important player under Cooper last time round featuring 43 times in the Championship as his side reached the play-off final, but has only made three league appearances so far under Martin.

Furthermore, Nixon goes on to write that Nottingham Forest plan to give Cooper a transfer budget for the January window.

The Reds claimed their first win of the season yesterday, winning 2-0 away at Huddersfield Town with Steven Reid standing in as caretaker manager.
