Nottingham Forest won 2-0 away at Huddersfield Town in the Championship this afternoon.
Nottingham Forest travelled to Huddersfield Town today, having parted ways with Chris Hughton in the week following a dreadful start to the campaign.
The Reds went into today rooted to the bottom of the second-tier table having claimed just one point from their opening seven games of the campaign.
But caretaker manager Steven Reid stepped in and gave the team a shake-up, and Forest would find themselves in front after 22 minutes thanks to a goal from Lewis Grabban.
An own goal from Town’s Lee Nicholls in the second half handed Forest an impressive away win – the three points sees them remain at the bottom of the table but now only one more win from safety.
Plenty of names impressed today but Ryan Yates took a lot of plaudits. The 23-year-old seemingly flourished in what was a more noticeably attacking team, with the midfielder now having featured in all eight Championship games so far this season.
See what these Nottingham Forest fans had to say on Twitter about his performance:
So many positives to take from today’s performance. We knew the players had it in their lockers, the shackles just needed to come off. Doesn’t feel right that I’m not sat here trying to express my anger in 280 characters, even Yates was quality🤣 You Reds #NFFC

Good performances from a lot of the lads today & hopefully more in the future. 3 ATB flexibility was massive today & spence & Lowe gave a good credit of themselves. Yates managed to put in a good performance as well, hopefully he’ll learn to do it more consistently #nffc
