Preview: Barnsley v Chesterfield

Barnsley host Chesterfield at Oakwell this weekend and will be hoping to put an end to a poor run of form, having not won a game in five attempts, dropping down to 11th place in the table.

Chesterfield, however, remain in the final play off spot after winning four games on the bounce. The Spireites need a win as they sit just four points above Rochdale, who have a game in hand.

Spireites keeper Tommy Lee has also kept three clean sheets in four games but has admitted that his team will have to step it up a notch to secure a play off finish.

Barnsley, now seven points off the play offs, will need a win if they are to have any hopes of achieving a high finish, although a play off finish seems almost impossible for the Tykes.

Niether team have any new injury worries but Barnsley will be hoping that defender Lewin Nyatanga will be able to return and striker Jabo Ibehre returns to contention after being unable to play in the defeat at Colchester because he is on loan from the Essex side.

Chesterfield will be sure to take an impressive following to Oakwell, with the two sides situated less than 30 miles apart.
