Can teen Cook in at Leeds United?

Apart from Massimo Cellino cooking the team pasta before a game and Paddy Kenny eating Greggs [allegedly], it seems that there’s another Cook in favour at Elland Road. If rumours are to be believed, it seems that all the Premier League big guns are chasing Leeds United’s teen starlet Lewis Cook with Manchester United the latest to throw their hat into the ring following the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. 18-year old Cook has impressed under Neil Redfearn since he was thrown into the starting line up and has impressed with the coolness and composure that he has shown in the 37 appearances that he has made in the Leeds United first 11 this season. What has caught the eye of many observers is Cook’s strength in the tackles with 83 successful tackles this season, this defensive strength goes alongside his strong running from midfield.

Cook’s pedigree has seen him recognised at international level with him being a part of the successful England U17 side that won the UEFA European U17s championship in 2014. This form has seen him promoted to the England U18 squad recently and won’t have been missed by the Premier League big guns keeping tabs on him. Leeds’ valuation of £12m is unlikely to put potential suitors from riffling the well-worn edges of the cheque books when summer comes with a ubiquitous club source saying,

“He’s wonderful talent and Leeds have no chance of keeping him at Elland Road. It’s just a matter of when, not if, he leaves and it should be quite a mad scramble this summer.”

Seems like it’s ready, steady…start bidding come the summer transfer window.
