Life at the bottom – playing the relegation game

I’ll be honest with you, being a Leeds fan means that promotion races tend not to get me excited. More often than not, Leeds are your perennial ‘mid-table mediocrity type of team; there or thereabouts scrapping in the midst of the league table. Too bad to not be able to go up, too good to not be able to go down; we are your yardstick for a ‘fair-to-middling team’. So, with that in mind, I tend to have more interest in life at the lower reaches of whatever division we find ourselves in, life where teams stare down both barrels of the relegation shotgun. I leave life at the top of the table for others.

With that in mind, I’d like to take a look at how the Championship relegation battle is placed with seven games and 21 points left to offer.
