Wigan secure Sinclair signing

Wigan Athletic have confirmed the signing of young Liverpool striker Jerome Sinclair on loan until the end of the season.

Sinclair became the youngest player to play for Liverpool when he came on as a sub in League Cup game at just 16 years and 6 days old. Wigan boss Malky Mackay has welcomed the signing of the promising striker as Wigan look to climb out of the relegation zone. Mackay told the official Wigan Athletic website ““We have to thank Liverpool for allowing him to come to Wigan, but they have seen how well Sheyi is progressing and that we are a club who will nurture a young player with potential. We are all hopeful he can make a good contribution during his time here.”

Sinclair will join up with fellow Liverpool prospect Sheyi Ojo, who is also gaining first team experience at the DW stadium.
