Keogh praises Derby youngster

Derby County captain Richard Keogh had kind words to say about the performance of 19 year old Jamie Hanson, who made his first team debut for the Rams this weekend in their 1-1 draw with fellow promotion hopefuls Norwich City.

Keogh told dcfc.co.uk “He (Jamie Hanson) was fantastic against Norwich, he was a credit to himself, a credit to the club and he has deserved his chance. We all trust him and we know what he can do, he was fantastic and we are all really pleased with him.”

Hanson, nicknamed “Bruiser” by his teammates, also reflected positively on his first professional outing for the club he’s been at for 12 years. When speaking to the Derby Telegraph Hanson said “I was a little bit nervous at the start and I just kept telling myself that I needed to play it simple, keep my feet on the ground, keep moving, keep talking. I just wanted to make a good impression. Once I completed my first couple of passes, I thought I settled into the game quite well.”
