Forestieri dedicates win to stricken fan

Watford striker Fernando Forestieri has paid tribute to Hornets fan Nic Cruwys, who is currently in a medically induced coma after he was attacked, unprovoked, on his way back from watching his side in their 2-2 draw against Wolves, at Molineux.

Forestieri was instrumental is Watford’s 4-1 win over Reading this weekend, providing 2 assists and scoring the 4th on an emotional day at Vicarage Road. Speaking to HornetsPlayer after the game, Forestieri said “This is for Nic. I hope he is much better, I want him to wake up and to see him, so he can support us here in the pitch. We are together, the team, and I hope to achieve promotion, for him”

Various tributes to the injured Watford fan could be seen at Vicarage Road on Saturday. A banner stating “Best wishes Nic “Moo” we are all thinking about you…from your Watford FC family” could be seen before the match. Both sets of supporters joined in a minute’s applause in the 44th minute and Watford players wore “FOR NIC” shirts during their pre-match warm up.
