Final 10 games in the tightest Championship race ever

This season, the Championship has been dubbed as the tightest ever race for promotion, with the top five teams being separated by only one point. Bournemouth currently lead the way with a superior goal difference over Derby, Watford and Middlesbrough, all on 66 points, with Norwich sitting in fifth place on 65 points. Both Ipswich and Brentford have surpassed 60 points too, with Wolves still in contention on 58 points.

In recent years, there has usually been at least one side who have began to pull away by this point in the season, Leicester last year and Cardiff the year before that. However, this season, the lead has changed hands a remarkable 17 times with many predicting that there will be plenty more twists and turns during the final 10 games of the season.

In the past 10 years, it has taken an average of 86 points to secure second place in the table. With 30 points left to fight for, any two of eight sides are still well in the running for not only the playoff places, but for automatic promotion as well. However, within the last 10 games, there are still many fixtures that include two sides from the top eight. This article takes a look at the last 10 fixtures each side faces, helping you to make your own mind up as to who you think has the best chance to win promotion to the Premier League.
