Fulham Dealt Injury Blow

Young Fulham midfielder George Williams has been ruled out for at least 4 months.

The 19-year-old was on loan at promotion chasing MK Dons when he ruptured his Anterior Cruciate Ligament. Williams only joined the Dons in February but has now returned to Craven Cottage. He had successful surgery and has begun his recovery.

The young Welshman joined the Cottagers in 2012 from MK Dons, where he was their youngest ever player at one point. He has appeared 15 times this season after making his debut in August and recently signed a new deal until 2018. The winger has also appeared for the Wales senior side five times. MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told the MK Dons website:

“It was one of the most difficult hours I’ve had as a manager. The kid means so much to me as a person and I rate him so highly as a footballer. I wish him all the luck in the world. I promised him that I will be at his first game back – I’m counting down the days.”

The Dons visit Walsall on Saturday while Fulham visit Sheffield Wednesday.
