A fundraising page set up for a Watford fan in critical condition has raised more than £11,000.

The page was set up by a Wolves fan after Nick Cruwys was attacked following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Molineux. The founder of the page has said he will be contacting the Hornets to get the money to Mr Cruwys.

Celebrities such as Jake Humphrey have donated and called for others to do the same. Mr Cruwys and a group of friends were heading to the railway station when they were “completely outnumbered”. The Wolves fan, Ollie Floyd said:

“I would like everyone to show that the majority speaks much louder than the cowards that attacked [the fan].”

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said the club were “deeply saddened” to hear about the attack and said their thoughts were with the family. Mr Cruwys remains in a critical condition.
