Former Luton Town man ‘one of the PL’s best in his position’ says Nathan Jones

As quoted by Luton Today, Luton Town boss Nathan Jones has said former Hatters star James Justin is ‘one of the best full-backs in the Premier League’.

Justin has recently been dealt with a huge injury blow after being stretchered off in Leicester City’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The young full-back suffered damage to his cruciate ligament, bringing an abrupt end to his season with the Foxes.

The former Luton Town star has cemented himself in Leicester’s starting 11. He has become a key player in Brendon Rodgers’ side but his full focus will now switch to recovery.

Well wishes and support poured in for the 22-year-old upon the injury and now, former manager Nathan Jones has moved to sing his praises and wish him the best.

Speaking to Luton Today, Hatters boss Jones has said he “100%” would have been called up to the England squad, adding that he believes there is not a better full-back in the Premier League. He said:

“There’s no ‘potential England call-up. He 100 per cent would have got one. You name me a better full-back in the Premier League, even the ones at Liverpool.

“I knew what he would do because he is like a chameleon. He will adapt to whatever environment he goes into, he is that good. It’s a real, real shame, but let’s not lament over anything. He will come back and he’ll come back stronger.

“Everyone really cares about James and things, and as the song goes, ‘he’s one of our own.’

“We are very proud of him, but let’s not write him off or anything. He’s picked up an injury but many people will pick up an injury and come back, some come back stronger and better.”
