Oxford United boss ‘has an idea’ of who will be sold this summer

Speaking to BBC Radio Oxford, Oxford United boss Karl Robinson has said it is becoming clearer as to who will be sold in the summer transfer window.

The U’s have been in thoroughly impressive form in League One in recent months. Their performances have seen them shoot up the table, leaving them in 8th place after 26 games.

However, Karl Robinson’s side were on the receiving end of a shock loss earlier this week. League Two outfit Tranmere Rovers secured a 2-0 win at the Kassam Stadium, with goals from Kaiyne Woolery and Kieron Morris setting up a final against Sunderland.

Now, after the game, Robinson has said he has a clearer idea of who will be sold in the summer. Speaking to BBC Radio Oxford, the Oxford United boss said the loss to Tranmere told him ‘what he already knew.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Sometimes there’s a clear difference in where we want to go and where we’ve been. It’s standing out more and more the better we become.

“I wouldn’t say the Tranmere game was the deciding vote, but it only told me what I already knew.

It will be interesting to see how the situation pans out as the summer transfer window comes closer.

Transfer decisions at the Kassam Stadium could yet be influenced by what division they find themselves in next season. If they are able to keep up their current league form, the U’s may well find themselves preparing for Championship football come the end of the season.
