Bolton and Wigan are heading in opposite directions
The Friday evening game at the Macron Stadium was as close to a six-pointer as they come at this stage in the season. Before the game Bolton still found themselves in the relegation zone, whilst their opponents were just above them in 19th. It was Bolton who took control and in the second half raced to a 3-0 lead that was never going to be caught. Back-to-back wins in the space of four days for the Trotters gives them a massive boost going into the international break, climbing out of the bottom three for the first time since September. Meanwhile, more misery for Uwe Rosler and Wigan who drop into the relegation zone after just a single win in their last 12 games.
