Stevens returns to Doncaster

Aston Villa defender Enda Stevens is back with Doncaster on an initial one month loan.

The 24 year-old full-back featured 14 times for Rovers last season and has rejoined the club following another short loan spell with Northampton.

Doncaster boss Paul Dickov told the official club website: “He’s come in, signed the forms and we’re just waiting on Football League approval.

“It’s a good fit, so we’re delighted to have him back. He knows the players, the club, myself and what we’re like, plus the fact he’s been getting games under his belt means he’s not playing catch-up.”

Stevens was eligible to play against Weston-super-Mare  in Saturday’s FA Cup tie but due to poor pitch conditions, the game had to be called off.

Meanwhile in the league, Doncaster will be hoping that the return of Stevens will be a positive one as the defence is in need of reassurance as they sit 17th in the table.
