QPR eyeing swoop for 30-year-old French goalkeeper

QPR are chasing a deal to sig Paul Nardi on a free transfer this summer, as per French reporter Mohamed Toubache-Ter.

QPR are gearing up for their first full season with Marti Cifuentes at the helm.

The Spanish boss did well to turn the club around after taking charge and he had them playing a very attractive style of football.

However, to maintain the positive performances and build on the positive results they will need to do some business between now and the start of the season.

Nardi, 30, is set to become a free agent following the expiration of his contract at KAA Gent.

He only played 13 first team games for the Belgian outfit last season, keeping two clean sheets.

Now, reports from France claim QPR are eyeing up a move for Nardi once he becomes a free agent later this month.

Who is this?

Valuable experience

The 30-year-old shot stopper may not be the first choice between the sticks, but on a free transfer he will offer very valuable experience.

He spent three seasons at Lorient in France where he helped them achieve promotion to Ligue 1 and he was their first choice goalkeeper for two seasons whilst in France’s top tier.

QPR will be looking to push up the second tier table next season and will be hoping his voice and experience go someway to helping them deliver that.

On the right track

Cifuentes has done a good job and he has got the backing of the supporters.

The club appear in a much better position than they did a year ago and it will be hoped a more solid foundation allows the team to get off to a better start this season than they did last.

However, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done and with pre-season just about starting for most of the division, the hard yards are now being put in on the pitch as well as off it.

QPR start their season with a home clash against West Brom who finished last season inside the top six.
