MK Dons keen on loan move for Brighton man

MK Dons are interested in a loan move for Brighton goalkeeper Tom McGill, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

MK Dons are keen on luring the stopper down to League Two for next season as they hunt for another option between the sticks. They were beaten in the play-offs in this past campaign at the semi-finals stage over two legs by eventual winners Crawley Town.

McGill, 24, has another year left on his contract at Brighton but is down the pecking order with the Premier League outfit. He has been on the books of the Seagulls for the past decade.

In this update regarding his situation by journalist Nixon on Patreon, he has emerged on the radar of MK Dons as they gear up for another year in the fourth tier. They are managed by former Watford, Newcastle United and Oxford United defender Mike Williamson these days.

He was snapped up by Brighton in 2014 and has since risen up through their academy ranks.

The ex-England youth international has been a regular for the Seagulls at various different youth levels in the past but has never played a first-team game.

Instead, he has been shipped out on loan from the AMEX Stadium to Worthing, Greenwich Borough, Basingstoke Town and Crawley Town to get some experience under his belt.

MK Dons latest

Brighton need to decide what to do with McGill and he would benefit from a temporary spell at MK Dons.

The Dons have been busy with transfers recently and have acquired attacker Connor Lemonheigh-Evans and defender Laurence Maguire from Stockport County and Chesterfield respectively.

They announced their retained list in mid-May and confirmed that Mo Eisa, Michael Kelly, Dan Kemp, Warren O’Hora and Ethan Robson are leaving.
