Leeds United and Watford are keen on a summer move for Reggiana attacking midfielder Natan Girma, according to a report by Italian news outlet Il Resto Del Carlino.

Leeds United and Watford could both see the Serie B ace as someone to add more competition and depth to their squads ahead of next season. The pair are both preparing for another year in the Championship.

Girma, 22, is under contract with his current club until the summer of 2027, with an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months on top of that, meaning they are under no pressure to sell him in the upcoming window and can wait for the right offer to arrive for his services.

According to Il Resto Del Carlino, the Whites and the Hornets have both identified him as a potential target but face competition from AS Monza in Serie A. The player is believed to be valued in the region of £2.5million to £3.5million.

Girma made 29 appearances in all competitions in the past campaign and chipped in with six goals and three assists.

The Switzerland-born man started his career with spells in the academies at Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy, Porto Lausanne and Espagnol LS.

He then had stints at Dardania Lausanne, Servette and Sona before moving to Reggiana in July last year on a long-term basis.

His team came 11th in the Italian second tier and were comfortably mid-table as they look to hold on to one of their key players over the course of the next couple of months.

What lies in store for Leeds United and Watford?

Leeds United need to pick themselves back up following their play-off final loss to Southampton at Wembley.

Former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke is staying put and they could lose some of their key players.

Nevertheless, the Whites will be confident that they can mount another promotion push and could see Girma as someone to boost their attacking department.

As for Watford, Tom Cleverley is preparing for his first full season at the helm at Vicarage Road.

The ex-Manchester United man made a positive impression after taking over from Valerien Ismael and has since been handed the full-time gig as he looks to make a name for himself in the managerial game.

The Hornets have a few vacancies to fill in their squad but will be patient with their recruitment.
