3 Scandinavian stars Lincoln City should eye after key figure’s revelation

Lincoln City will be in the market for some new signings this summer and it seems they’re casting a wide net in the hunt for new signings.

Lincoln City, as will most League One and League Two sides, are mainly going to be looking at domestic transfer targets in their effort to bolster the ranks.

However, director of football Jez George confirmed earlier this month that the club have been exploring other markets in the search for new signings. One area of the globe eyed is Scandinavia.

It will have fans intrigued over just what the coming months has to offer, with some potentially eye-catching moves made to bring in players from abroad.

With Scandinavia eyed, we pick out three players from the region that Lincoln City should consider…

Jake Cooper-Love – GAIS

Cooper-Love might sound like a British name, and it is. The striker was born in Aneby, Sweden, to English parents who hail from Bury, so a move to the English game could be intriguing for the 22-year-old.

Having found game time hard to come by with Eflsborg, he’s notched five goals and an assist in 11 games on loan at GAIS. He previously won the young player of the year title in the Swedish second-tier too.

When given game time, Cooper-Love has shown he can score goals and given that chances with his parent club have been limited, Lincoln City could eye a shrewd move here.

Hugo Andersson – Randers FC

Centre-back is an area the Imps will be looking to add to as Lewis Monstma and TJ Eyoma depart.

25-year-old Andersson hasn’t always been a regular starter for Danish side Randers but the former Sweden U21 international is a steady performer and could be ready to kick on with a new challenge.

Given his place in the pecking order, it could be that Randers are open to selling him before he enters the final year of his contract. That’s something Lincoln City should take an interest in.

Who is this?

Rami Al Hajj – Odense BK

Last but not least is perhaps an ambitious shout, but this would be a fantastic signing. An attacking midfielder wouldn’t go amiss at Sincil Bank as Danny Mandriou departs, so Rami Al Dajj could be an exciting option.

He can play in a range of roles as a midfielder or winger and would be a very exciting addition at League One level. Whether or not he’d be within the reaches of the Imps though, that seems unsure.

Perhaps he’s one for Championship clubs to consider, unless the Imps get a welcome influx of cash and look to make a statement signing.
